While Harry Reid is certainly a favorite punching bag for the right, the left isn’t exactly enamored with the guy either. From Politico today:

Liberal talk show host Ed Schultz is attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for not taking a harder tack with Republicans, calling the Nevada Democrat “ball-less.” Schultz has been a frequent critic of Democratic tactics in recent months, but launched into a full blown tirade on his radio show Wednesday.

“Do you think here in late July of 2010 — after the 2008 election, almost two years — do you think the Democrats can finally get their freaking heads screwed on right and realize that the lefties put you in office to do something,” Schultz asked. “To hell with Republicans. They’re anti-American.”

The irony here is that liberal Reid just attacked liberal Obama last week for being a wuss, and now he’s being attacked by a liberal wuss talk show host for the same thing. I guess the entire center-left of the political spectrum is nothing but a bunch of wusses.

This is really pretty amazing, almost unbelievable.

The daughters of Charlotte McCourt, a former volunteer for Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, wrote an obituary for their mother which was published on Tuesday by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Pretty standard stuff in the beginning, but it ended with this political bombshell:

Las Vegas Sun columnist Jon Ralston writes today that “the most serious impediment to (Harry Reid’s) re-election may be that words do matter — especially in campaigns. And the reason Reid has yet to commit to debates with Sharron Angle, who is now being called a ‘mental patient’ and ‘nutbag’ on MSNBC as she has fallen back to Earth since the primary, is that Reid knows what his handlers do: You never know what he might say.”

Reid it and weep.

According to Harry Reid, the mixed martial arts Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) are great for the Nevada economy.

“It’s been so terrific for our community, especially in these down economic times,” Reid told the Associated Press. “These fights fill hotel rooms and buy dinners, and people gamble a little bit, so from that perspective, it’s really wonderful.”

So naturally, it wouldn’t be in Nevada’s best interest to encourage UFC competition in other states, right? But that’s exactly what Reid plans to do.

“Harry Reid has served as a United States senator for 24 years,” writes Nevada Republican Party Communications Dirctor Ciara Matthews, “and any public official with such an extensive tenure must be judged based on his record. That record makes one thing abundantly clear: Nevadans simply cannot afford another six years of Harry Reid.”

“No scalp would be as treasured by Republicans this fall as that of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid,” writes Tim Carney for the Washington Examiner. “And no incumbent is receiving as much air support from the drug industry as is Reid, who championed a health care bill that pads drug company profits.”

Sen. Harry Reid has been slamming Republicans for not voting to extend unemployment benefits. Then again, it’s not Harry Reid who will be paying the bill – it’ll be Nevada employers who are already in financial distress and unable to hire additional employees.  From the Las Vegas Review-Journal today:
